The Connecticut Marriages database does not return any search results.

https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2448940

Here are two screen shots showing the search page and a search for "Smith" showing no results. (All searches come up with no results, including names that come up in the Ancestry index.)

We use this collection in the BYU-I Family History Research program for student training, so it would be good if it was operational!

Thank you!

    @Amy Tanner Thiriot

    I wonder if you are using a link from a bookmark. I can access the collection using the link https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1674749.

    I think the collections mentioned in the original post by @Amy Tanner Thiriot and by @Maile L are in fact different collections

    It is all bit confusing because they have Wiki pages with different content but the same title Connecticut, Marriages - FamilySearch Historical Records

    The first collection Connecticut Marriages, 1640-1939 https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2448940 (as per original post) from its Wiki page https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Connecticut,_Marriages_-_FamilySearch_Historical_Records says

    This collection is an index to marriages from the marriage abstracts found in the Charles R. Hale collection. The marriage notices were found in local newspapers from 1755 to ca.1870. The marriage index is divided into two parts, by newspaper and the other by surname. The collection is located at the Connecticut State Library.

    The collection linked by Maile L https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1674749 Connecticut Marriages, 1630-1997 has a Wiki page

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Connecticut_Marriages_-_FamilySearch_Historical_Records (which differs from the other Wiki page by a comma) says

    "This collection is an index of marriages for the years 1630-1997. This index is not complete for any particular place, region or time period. This collection may include information previously published in the International Genealogical Index."

    @Amy Tanner Thiriot Looking at the list of record collections (https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/list?cqs=Connecticut+Marr), I see 3 Connecticut Marriage record collections. Notice that Connecticut Marriages, 1630-1997 has 281,486 records. A very similar title also shows Connecticut Marriages, 1640-1939 and shows that it has 1 record.

    That one that shows on the list with only 1 record returns the Record Removed error if you search for any name and has the same collection number (2448940) as the one you provided a link to. Interestingly, while the index for that one is not producing any results, you can browse the images.

    The other, similarly titled collection shows the same last updated date, which is also interesting. It comes up as index-ony and a different collection number (1674749). Searches work fine for that one. And, interestingly, you can in fact view the images. They just do not promise that the image link will go to the correct image. "This record may have come from this image, but it could be slightly off." Looking at the document informatoinm, we can see that the index came from the older record extraction projects--which is why there might be a mis-match between the index and the images. And the wiki article about it indicates that it is a legacy collection,

    So, depending on what you are teaching your students to do, you might use https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1674749 for searching indexed information or https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2448940 for browsing images.
