Unfinished Attachments
Please make “Unfinished Attachments” more user friendly.
1) What about it is unfinished? Apparently the source is attached to some but not persons all in the record. So, why not say who it is NOT attached to?
2) If I click on the “UNFINISHED ATTACHMENTS”, it takes me to a page that only gives me options to detach. So, does that mean the source is already attached to this person? If so, why not say so with a statement; “This source is attached to this person.”
3) If I then go to the “record” and check each of the highlighted names (links) I can see which persons the record is attached to by the “paperclip” icon. It would be much better if that icon were adjacent to each name in the record so I don’t have to check each one individually.
4) Some names in the record do not indicate a relationship, such as witnesses. Such may possible be a relation, but the record does not provide the relationship; therefore meaningless. Yet, I have an option to “ATTACH TO FAMILY TREE”. This makes no sense when such are, for example, merely witnesses. For such there should be an option “DO NOT ATTACH TO FAMILY TREE”
Why even consider any name if there is no relationship provided in the record. What good does it do to reference a name with relationship, you would not if he or she were a parent, child, sibling, spouse, or a random person.
4) Clicking “DISMISS” will remove the source. But, I don’t want to do that. Provide an option “ACCEPT SOURCE AS IS”

"Who it is not attached to" is information specific to a source citation. It cannot be shown in the generic alert message -- but it can be accessed, all on one page, with a single click on "Unfinished Attachments". This takes you to Source Linker, where the people it is attached to are usually at the top, while the people it isn't attached to are usually somewhere at the bottom. You may need to scroll down a ways to see them.
The existing attachments are in green, the unattached people are shown in white. Once you line up an indexed person (on the left) with a matching tree person (on the right), you'll get a "Compare" arrow that will allow you to make the attachment.
Yes, the extra people are often unattached for a reason: they can't (currently) be identified. But sometimes, another record eventually comes along and does identify that witness or boarder or midwife -- and Source Linker can be used to attach the indexed record to the correct person, regardless of the relationship (or lack thereof) to the other people listed.
For number (4): No, clicking Dismiss will not remove the source. The only thing removed by clicking "Dismiss" is the alert message. The source citation(s) will still be attached exactly as before; it'll just stop telling you that there are other people in the indexed record.

2) If I click on the “UNFINISHED ATTACHMENTS”, it takes me to a page that only gives me options to detach.
When on a source in a source list you see "Unfinished Attachments" but in the Source Linker you see no unfinished attachments, that means the record is attached to a profile concealed in the private tree space of at least one contributor. All you need to do is go back to the source list and Dismiss the message about unfinished attachments.

Rather than “UNFINISHED ATTACHMENTS” say, “View persons in this source who are not attached to a family tree person”
Rather than “DISMISS” say “Dismiss this message”
