Alabama Marriage Records.

I am use to getting multiple copies of "Sources" for marriages ... sometime upwards of 10 for a couple -- generally all supporting each other with only slight variations in content.

Working in Alabama the last several weeks I quite consistently get two copies of a marriage record for a couple ... same date but two different places. One seems consistently to be "Election Precinct 29 Alabama City, Etowah, Alabama, United States", while the other is elsewhere in Alabama.

Does Alabama have some centeralized Marriage record system in Etowah which generates a marriage entry for all couples in the state, while the local county of actual marriage also has its version??? Have not seen this anywhere else.

You don't mention the time period you are working in. That can make a big difference in what records Alabama created for a marriage. There are also indexes (sometimes modern computer listings) and records (bonds, licenses, certificates) which may have been created at different times and indexed separately.

@Richard George Reynolds Hello. Would it be possible to give a specific example with links to the records and or images. Or attach the images.
