What happens when a living person is in multiple family trees of extended family members and then they die? Is it a risk when people see that there are now multiple duplicates of that person and start merging them without regard for the memories, etc.?

For example, if there are many documents, pictures, and sources noted, are all of those items and additions saved when a merge of duplicates occurs??

yes - that's the purpose of the merge - to make sure all the information from all the records is merged together under a single record (including the memories).

any specific other "risk" you are alluding to?
