I would suggest a slightly darker background on the new landscape view, maybe also on the portrait view, it would enhance the readability a lot.

And, btw, the feedack button on the new landscape view doesn't seem to work.

Please note that not everyone "sees" the same. Your suggestion would be embraced by my daughter and husband, but would be a nightmare for me. I do appreciate the problem of color though. Perhaps a sliding adjustment would work?
