Zimbabwe, Archdiocese of Harare—Church Records, 1892–2021 [Part C] [MQ9M-3LR]
Hi Everyone, I am working on project Zimbabwe, Archdiocese of Harare—Church Records, 1892–2021 [Part C][MQ9M-3LR]. I am having trouble figuring out as there are two names given in the "Nomen Patris" and "Nomen Matris" fields if both names are first names or last names. I think they both given names, but not sure as I would think that the names of the parents would have last names in those fields with the two names given for each parent, but not for sure. This seems to be the case also for the child listed for baptism, but I believe we put that both of their names in the "Child's Given Name" field. Perhaps this is the same case for their parents?

The general indexing rule:
• If you cannot determine whether a name is a given name or a surname, type it in the Given Names field.
Sometimes there is a larger space between the names to indicate a separation of fields. Also, If the parent only has one name listed, put it in the Given Name field, even if it is the same as the child's surname (when provided). Native children are sometimes given the first name of their father or mother (if no father listed) as their surname.

Couldn't open your batch, but you should follow the project instructions and refer to the sample, How to Index a Baptism Register, Example 1
