Try as I may, I cannot get Family Search to recognize that I am related to anyone in my tree.  Even my parents/grandparents.

I get:

No Relationship Found

You have no direct relationship to this person in Family Tree, or your common ancestor is beyond 15 generations.

I played with my login and user ID to match my full name, but it didn't matter. It would be very useful if this worked.

Thanks- Mel Beattie (Melvin Forrest Beattie)

    Miss Jessie- Yes -this was it. I merged and fixed the two. Everything now works. I suspected something like this but didn't see the duplicate flagged. Thanks for your help. Mel

    If you go to Family Tree - Tree, what do you see? Are your parents and grandparents and so on correctly connected to you there?

    Yes, they are all connected (my tree is fine), and I have relationship viewing enabled. I've searched the questions on this and the only thing I find is a comment that the relationship viewing has to be turned on for all my ancestors. This is something I cannot do of course and seems overly restrictive since my deceased ancestors don't have accounts with permissions.

    Thanks- Mel

    @Melvin Forrest Beattie

    in Family Tree page, you should find a recents tab. The ID at the very top of the recents list is the ID assigned to the account owner. Relationships are based on that ID. If no parents are added, you will not see any relationships.

    You may have created a 2nd ID with your own name connected to your parents. If so you may need to merge the 2 records.

    Another possibility is that you began your account with a different person’s name and vital information.
