New landscape and portrait views second spouse

Hi everyone,

I just checked out the new landscape and portrait view. But I can't see if a person had a second wife or husband anymore. In the old view, there was this little arrow in the corner e.g. of the wifes card, when there was another wife.

Is there a new way to "switch" partners? Or is this just not yet in the new view?

Thanks for your help :)

@Julia46,374 There is a group in the community specifically for sharing feedback about the various Tree Pedigree Views. You may want to join to see if this is planned in the future.

I can see the arrows and the functionality seems to be as on the old version.

Use the “fish eye” icon to set preferences, including whether to show or hide alternate parents & spouses.

Julia46,374 I, too can see the little tics in both the old and new views. In the new, it has moved to the right side of the name, whereas in the old view it is on the left side of the name.

You mentioned both " the new landscape and portrait view." As Paul W noted, the ability to select the spouse is available in the landscape view in the new view, just as it always has been (the arrow is in a slightly different position, but otherwise it is the same).

But in the portrait view there is no selector for choosing a different spouse. That is is also the same as in the old view -- there was no selector in the old view and there is no selector in the new view.

Alan E. Brown, Yes, you are correct. I wasn't specific enough. Only landscape view has the tics.

    Hey Guys,

thank you so much for you help🤩.

But it seems that I don't have these options. Here I am on the new portrait view:

    4762.tmp.jpg

There is neither an arrow nor the option in the right, to show several spouses. In the old view I was able to see the arrow in this kind of view:

    5582.tmp.jpg

But I saw that on the new pedigrew/landscape view it is possible. I prefer the portrait view, but I guess I have to get used to the landscape view then 😪

@Julia46,374 , thank you for the screen shot. That was very illuminating. I rarely use the portrait view, and I was having a hard time seeing the spouse selectors you mentioned.

It turns out that the old portrait view does indeed have spouse selectors, but only for the root couple (the couple you are focused on -- Willy Voigtmann and Susanne in your example). And of course the selectors only appear for a root person who has multiple spouses. Those selectors are not available for any other couple in the tree (not for any of the children or any ancestors of that couple). And indeed, the spouse selectors are not available on the new portrait view. I don't know why that option was not implemented in the new portrait view.

One of the nice things about the landscape view is that the spouse selectors are available for every couple in the tree that has multiple spouses -- it's not limited to just the root couple.
