Source update
Frequently I am adding sources that have more than one vital record in the same record, but only one of the vital dates or even places is an option to add. For example, I will have a record that has the birth date with a place of birth and the record for christening/baptism. I am only getting the option to add the baptism and place of baptism. It would be great to be able to add the additional information for the birth date and place also given in the record. But I don't have a way to edit to add more for the same record. Instead, I am going into the profile to edit and then add and give the reason.
Can we update this please?

If you go to the unsourced Vital Event - Birth for example - you can tag the source which you would like to apply also to this event - then add Date, Place and Reason:
This then tags the source for the Birth event as well as being attached for baptism from the initial record attachment.
You can also add the multiple tags in the Source itself (on the Sources tab) - in the Tags section Add Tags.

The idea that as little as possible can be carried over during the source linking process is considered a good thing my many users. It is probably far better to go back to the Details (Person) page of the individual concerned to check on information already inputted.
Firstly, you won't be able to add details if there is an existing input - say for a birth - in the Vitals section. However, that detail might be wrong, or less complete than that on the source being added. So it is best to evaluate alternative detail (perhaps included in sources already attached to the individual) before confirming what detail is correct, and needs to be displayed in the (Vitals) fields.
Secondly, one exception to this is marriage data, whereby you can carry across event detail (via the source linker), even if it is already on the page. However, I would be inclined not to do this as FamilySearch has often categorised marriage related events (banns, licences) as representing the actual marriage, so potentially inaccurate detail could replace the perfectly correct information shown on the Details page. (If you add multiple marriage detail, at any point, the entry with the earliest date will always be displayed on the Details page.)
So, even with your example, do not consider you can't add the detail at this stage as being a bad thing - the data in different sources often conflicts, so everything needs to be rechecked (from the Details page), regardless.
