Popups on the person page are now TOO SLOW
On the old version of the person page, when opening a pop-up such as for editing marriage details, the fade in animation took 1.25 seconds, and the fade out animation when closing the pop-up took 0.95 seconds.
On the new version of the person page the fade in animation when opening a pop-up takes 2.3 seconds and the fade out takes 1.6 seconds.
I know that page designers think animations are cool, but what's actually cool is when computers feel fast and you can get your work done without waiting for unnecessary junk to happen.
The new interface feels sluggish and frustrating. It's distracting and a waste of time. Let's make family history more efficient instead of less efficient and change both animations to take 0.25 seconds. This is how long all animations take in the iPhone Family Tree app. Let's be consistent and follow good design principles.
And to be clear, we're not talking here about the time it takes to load data over the internet, and we're not talking about how fast my computer is. This is a brand new $2000 computer with an Nvidia GPU and a Core i9 processor, with a Google Fiber internet connection. And besides, this is repeated experiments, so all the data was cached, and I used the same browser session to compare the old and new pages.
Thanks,
Dave

I just tried to replicate this behaviour and found no difference at all with in the old and new versions. The thing I did notice was slightly slower (using the new version) was opening a child's profile from the parent's page. Incidentally, unlike your system, mine is a little dated and I have relatively slow internet connection speeds.
