Need repair made to collection - Indexing errors

The primary documents for the 'Management Tract Books, 1800 - 1955' have the letters 'Dr' in the upper left corner of the pages. It appears that indexers assumed that that meant the person they were indexing was a 'Doctor'. Therefore, we're noticing numerous entries that have been titled 'Dr', which just isn't accurate. For instance, 'Dr. Peter Belew', 'Dr. Nathan Bellah', etc.

Please have your team correct this large scale issue. Thanks!

@MJL Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Indexes are often flawed since they depend upon the indexers interpretation of what they see in the document. The purpose of the index is to make the record searchable, and the addition of the title Dr to these records does not affect a user's ability to search for and find the individual in question.

Some indexed records are able to be edited when you come across an error. For your example of Peter Belew, the record https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6JKQ-1NRV has the option to edit the indexed name, so you are welcome to remove the prefix, if you know for a fact that Peter is not a doctor.
