your records can no longer be trusted. Mistakes were made entering facts, and when I spoke to someone there, a Brother, he told me with the new system it would be impossible to go in and correct individual facts. I already found a few mistakes in the 1950 census records and I am very sad this had happened.

Do you have any records of the children of the Orphan Trains. I am looking for my great grandfather’s birth family and his adoptive “family”.

It is only human to make mistakes especially when you are transferring hundreds of records.

So when examining records for your family research, make sure you compare information from as many sources as possible as this will filter out any errors.

The 1950 US census was indexed for FS by Ancestry, com automatically by computer. It was verified by unpaid FS volunteers. I believe it was the first try at doing this.

The page images on any site (including FamilySearch) will be true copies of the original pages. Indexing is another matter. I have indexed many thousands of records, and like all indexers, I sometimes struggle to interpret sloppy handwritten documents. I suggest using an index as a step towards viewing the page image, which will be 100% accurate (if the data on the original document is 100% accurate). And I use indexes on multiple websites. If one is wrong, another may be right.

I found the 1950 Census on the Govt. website when it first came out. My parents last name was put in wrong. I submitted the changes and they were added on as corrections. I typed in the name on your website and it comes up no record. I found it but anybody else looking for it in the future will never find it.

I too would welcome information on Prussia/Poland from where my great grandparents migrated to Queensland in mid1870's. We have some information on my great grandmother but would like to learn more of her ancestors, but have nothing on her husband or his ancestors except he served in the Prussian military in the Franco-Prussian war and was born about 1840.

This article lists new record collections that have been added recently. New collections are added weekly. For record availability for the areas you are inquiring about check out these resources: You can search Record Collections to find all transcribed/indexed records.  If you don't find what you're looking for there, I recommend exploring the Historical Record Images that have not been transcribed/indexed yet. You may also find what you are looking for in the FamilySearch Catalog. Also make sure to check out the FamilySearch Research Wiki.
