It would be very nice if the tree would remain open when I click on an individual in the tree to link a record or reserve and ordinance. That way I could return to the tree to work on other individuals in the family.

You can do this yourself right now with a tiny bit of extra work. When you click on the person, the person card will pop up. If you then right click on the Person button on the card, you can choose "Open link in new tab" (that's the wording for Chrome, but all browsers have a similar option that might be worded slightly differently).

Then your tree will remain as it was in one tab and you can work on the person in the new tab.

In at least Firefox and Safari, if you just right click on the name to begin with it will immediately open in a new tab without needing to go through the Summary Card and without needing to pick anything from menu.
