Copy Paste Problems
I have a "copy" and "paste" problem with FamilySearch. I am making list of relatives with PID nos. in Microsoft Word.
In FamilySearch when I hover over a PID, it says, "copy ID" and the then I click on "copy ID," I get a message, "ID copied." This suggests that the text has been copied to clip board. But wait!
The problem is that the PID that is copied only can be pasted inside FamilySearch. If I try to paste what I have copied into Word, there is nothing on my Mac clipboard. This is problem of the copy/paste not working from FS into Word is especially annoying when I think I have copied a PID and then use Command Q (paste to match style), if there is nothing on the clipboard, Command Q will close the Word document.
If I actually copy the PID using Command C and then paste it into Word (or other document) using Command V, the copy/paste function works as it should.
I have had to learn to always use Command C and Command V, and never use the built in feature to copy/paste PID numbers. In other words, I can't trust FamilySearch to deliver what it offers, a copy and paste function that will work with other programs.
It doesn't seem to be a Mac issue because the command C and command V work perfectly.
Can this problem be corrected in FamilySearch, please?

Disclaimer: I am not a Mac user - but have used a Mac - so understand some things...

I cannot verify the following will work for you (I don't know if your Mac will be different) - but believe the problem is mostly with the shortcut your Mac is set to use for Paste and Match Style. You should be able to change your shortcut command to another keystroke/shortcut combination to prevent this from happening. Here is an online article that should help you change the shortcut (from Command+Q to Command+[whatever else you would like]):

Thank you for your comment. Yes, I know about the shortcut keys. It is interesting I can paste into Microsoft Excel but not into Microsoft Word.

Perhaps another article (if you are using El Capitan?):

As I mentioned on your other post on this topic, on my Mac I can use the Copy ID link on both the old and new Person pages and then past ID number everywhere I've tried, this includes, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, Mail, Safari, Firefox, Notes, Reminders, and Photoshop. So it does not appear to be any problem with FamilySearch but rather with Word. Have you tested pasting the ID into more things than Excel, which you say works, and Word where it does not?
Checking around, it does appear that Word on the Mac does have clipboard issues.

Why is it that I can copy/paste all the info in the "Details" tab when looking up someone, but the name of the person contributing that information (in blue) doesn't print?? its nice to know who supplied that information in case there were questions, or problems arose later on, you knew who to contact for answers. They used to print every time, but now, not at all. will they print in the next update? or How can I get them to print again??

I have never been able to copy the name of a contributor on the Details page. What I can do is click the name and then copy and paste the name from the pop up box with that person's contact details.
