Allow filtering memories to remain once selected.
Currently, users can filter all of the memories for a specific ancestor to be in chronological order if they are working from the new person page memories screen, however, the minute you open the viewer to look at specific information about a memory, the arrows at the top of the viewer return all of the memories for that person to the default order in which they were uploaded. It would be nice and less confusing if the memories could remain in chronological order rather than returning to the default when the viewer is open.

I agree wholeheartedly. This is a real miss by the programmers or designers (whoever made the decision.).

The Memories page where you can have chronological order is in the rather completely overhauled, re-written and updated new Person pages. The pages for each individual memory are still the old version. Since the old version does not support the chronological sort, of course the individual item pages can't. Nothing was missed. We just don't have the new update for the viewer. I do hope that it will include moving from one item to the next in the set sort order, but for now we will just have to wait until it is released before making any judgements on the programming of the new viewer.

Thanks for your additional confirmation that the viewer has not been updated, @Gordon Collett, but since this is a forum for sharing ideas that our users can vote on, I am hopeful that mentioning this in the Suggest an Idea category where others can cast a vote might help those who continue to enhance our features to determine whether or not to change the viewer options as well. Hope we can get some votes for a potential change.

Yes, of course that is the purpose of this section. It is also the place to refine, clarify, and critique suggestions. If the suggestion presented here is to include this feature on the old individual memory page, then I would not vote for it. The programmers have too much to do with the new pages to waste time updating the old page that is going to vanish in a few weeks if they stay on schedule. I feel the decision to not update the old page was not a "miss" but rather a good use of resources.
If the suggestion was to include that in the new page, which we have not seen yet and have no idea what new features it might include, I would certainly support that. But since that sort feature is the best feature found on the new pages, I would be highly surprised if the new individual memory page does not support the sort. I'm look forward to seeing what the programmers have in store for us.
