Some memories now have image missing
I am wondering why I am discovering quite a few of the memories I have added suddenly have a message reading "Image currently unavailable (not found)"
Some are images added as early as 2012 and have been viewable for years, but have suddenly disappeared! I have noticed a few memories added by others with same problem recently.
Anyone know why this is happening? I deleted a few of these problem items and re-downloaded the images, but that isn't easy and I would prefer an answer - wondering if it is a temporary problem and will be "fixed" eventually...
For example see memories of my great grandfather, Lauritz F Jorgensen KWXM-D29 - he has 4 memories where the image is missing.
More examples:
Enetta Harriet Hendricks LW62-BVN, Lucy Evaline Clark KWCK-GNP, George Fletcher Pattillo KWCK-7KD, Reah Thorn KWC8-XXC, Robin Wilcox KWH3-Q6D, Ezra Thompson Clark KW83-LG6, James David Wilcox KW8S-GH4, Donald Gene Johnson KWCD-VS9 AND MORE!!

Hi everyone-
Just wanted to give you an update: The engineers are still working to rectify the Missing Memory Images. It has been a unique challenge that they are fervently working on. Thank you for your continued patience as they work hard to fully resolve this issue. As a reminder, please do not delete or try to re-upload those missing images while they are being restored. We do apologize for the inconvenience this is causing but so appreciate your kind patience!

We hope to have the solution out very soon. We did make it that you cannot try and re-upload or make any edits to those Memories until we are ready. Thanks for your patience.

I am trying to delete a picture I posted wrong and I am getting this:
We had a problem on our end. Refresh the page, and try again.
I do this and it continues to give me this message.
How do I delete a picture I posted wrong when it keeps on giving me this message?

Posted where? Here in Community? In Memories? Where are you trying to delete it? Here? A person’s pages? Your gallery?

Under “Memories”
it just started this morning giving me this message.

What could cause me to not be able to delete any of the photos I have uploaded? I get an error when I try to do it from the actions drop-down menu and from the Gallery itself the delete option is greyed out. Several days ago I could do it just fine but now I can't.
This happens on multiple browsers.
I have uploaded a better image of a headstone and would like to get rid of the old one. This happens on all images I try to delete. The most recent one I tried to delete is this image:
https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/memories/LTLW-XHC. Thank you.

This is in Memories, whether you try to delete the picture (or any Memory) starting from the Gallery or a person's tagged Memories. The option to delete a Memory will not be available for a little while. I believe it should be enabled again within a day or so.

So either a bug has crept in, which you have now notified them of or there is some background work going on updating functions for new new Person pages. In any event, I'm sure they will get it fixed.

Recently FamilySearch was conducting a Memories feature poll - to see which feature changes are desired. I suspect they are now quietly implementing such changes (for Christmas - I haven't seen public announcement of anything) and that as mentioned hopefully issues will resolve soon.

I am getting this message for about ten photos: !Image currently unavailable (not found), Do I need to replace the photos or will they reappear soon? They have been missing for three days.
Thank you.

It is interesting as I navigate from FS to My Heritage, all the photos have migrated perfectly to their site, but at least six of those entered in FS are no longer showing, only black spaces.

Hi Sandy Welcome to Family Search Community and posting your question about photos. This is an identified problem within Family Search. We are working on getting it fixed so all your photos will display. Thanks.

Thank you Stephanie,
I recently inherited a box of old family photos. As I was uploading, tagging, and adding them to an appropriate album, I discovered that many of the photos I had previously uploaded are now blank and give the message "!Image currently unavailable (not found)", I was planning on hunting for them on my computer and uploading them again.
Thanks to your message I will wait and see if the missing photos return in the near future.

Two of the photos I've placed in my gallery are now missing. Instead of seeing the photos I see a notice that "image is currently unavailable." These were photos I added in 2013. How do I get my images back? They can be found on Aaron Yerxa Ross KX4P-RM6 memory section.

it appears to me some how the files have become corrupted.
I am going to forward this to a FS employee that I think may be able to help.
I will keep you posted.

My name is Brian Paul Kaess and over 300+ photos/memories of mine were deleted from my memories page out of nowhere. I thank you for trying to address this problem. I also was unable to add any new memories. I hope you guys can fix this soon.

I still have missing photos/memories. Are the engineers still trying to restore the lost items? When do they expect to resolve the problem.
Thank you for all you are doing.

I, too, am interested if the engineers have had any success in restoring the missing text and images in Family Search. I am missing certain stories that I included for my ancestors but now there is only a line or two with the remainder missing! I don't even know which ones are missing except as I run across them and discover that there is a problem with them or someone else who has tried to read them lets me know that the story is missing. So what is happening?

Why does my photo appear blank and has and error message stating
Image currently unavailable?

1) It is possible that the image was reviewed and removed because it did not meet the criteria for safe posting - but you can challenge those! >
https://www.familysearch.org/legal/familysearch-upload-guidelines-and-policies
or
2) The server (hard drive) the image is on is offline for any number of reasons. So wait a bit. "Image 'currently' unavailable" is a clue a possible server farm glitch has occurred and it may get back up and running in a little bit.

I'm having the same problem.... many of my photos uploaded years ago have now just disappeared:
When I click on any of these I get the message: Image Currently Unavailable.
I have over 10,000 memories in my FS account. I know that after 5000 (according to the relevant help centre article), the system can be slower when there are more than this number of memories, but that doesn't account for them disappearing like this.
I have noticed this over the last couple of months so not sure if its a server issue....would it take that long to resolve?
Anyone got any suggestions please how this can be resolved?

It would be nice to see a problem/solution format as a reply to this inquiry after it has been resolved.

Hi everyone-
An update: The engineers are still working toward a resolution to images that have stopped displaying correctly. It has proved to be very complex but they are still working hard to restore these images and completing the fix. As a reminder, please do not try to delete or re-upload them. Again, we do apologize, and thank you again for patiently hanging in there with us!
