Bit in Johannesburg death records
I have come across the word Bit in my indexing death records in Johannesburg South Africa. I am pretty sure it is not part of their name. Does anyone know what it stands for or if it is a name? These are children's deaths.

B/T abbreviation of born to and the parents name ie unnamed baby

If you follow faulty PIs to the letter it would be christian name <blank>, surname <blank> plus the date. This will create a record of next to no relevance to a researcher. I would at least add the parents surname to make it relevant and findable, despite poor FH instruction on not assuming a surname...

It does have the parent name so do I still leave the B/T so they don't mark the parent as the deceased person?
