How to enter town or community names which have disappeared

Greenville, Carroll County, Maryland was an unincorporated community in the county but a number of individuals, including members of the Church were born and raised there. When annotating a record with birth or death place it isn't possible in FamilySearch to enter the name of Greenville. Is there a way to fix that so Greenville will appear? Do we need some geo coordinates or something else? Thanks!

Is this in Family Tree or in Indexing or in correcting indexed records?

In Family Tree, just enter the full name of the place "Greenville, Carroll, Maryland, United States" and it should link automatically to Carroll, Maryland, United States like this:

This is correctly entered and is how Family Tree is designed to accommodate the infinite variety of place names needed.

You can also request that Greenville be added to the Places database at: https://www.familysearch.org/research/places/?pagenum=1&pagesize=20
