Selectively 'Enable Relationship Viewing' rather than all or nothing?, Relatives at Rootstech ...
Idea: As the 'enable relationship viewing' feature currently stands - it is either enabled or disabled. Yes, enabling it allows the possibility for greater collaboration - but why would I want to enable that globally to all FamilySearch users without first trying to organize/enable it with selected Family Groups/Contacts? In other words - more selectively/limited scope enabling. As Relatives at Rootstech showed me last year - there are definitely cousin relationships of which I have no idea - so I can understand global enabling allowing for that wider net to be cast. But I have a hard time keeping track of such distant relations without a persistent connection (Family Group) and more often would like to organize the closer Family Groups that I am aware of before these more distant cousins. Not that these Family Groups should not also be organized - but if Relatives at Rootstech could find those relations why not just organize the Family Groups from that event - and advertise the ability to join/enable relationship viewing with those Family Groups?
Advantage of this Idea: Allow for better organization of Family Groups rather than enabled for all users.
Disadvantage of this Idea: Would require programming the inverse (one way to look at it?) of the current feature.
Thanks cousins!
