Indexed records are unavailable after I edit them
Dear Familysearch Community, I am having a problem, I have edited some computer indexed records from Chile which had incorrect data which I updated to reflect the actual information contained in the image to help the people who are searching those records, every thing looked fine, but once I finished editing, I realized that the records had been removed from the search results, and I couldn't have access to them anymore. This editing was done over 3 weeks ago but the problem persists with no updates on the subject. Here is the link to those records.

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6DSZ-RKDR
I've checked the original links for each one of these records but when I click on them to see the data, it appears this message, even if I'm browsing inside a FHL center.
"We're unable to show this record to you.
This record can only be displayed on certain accounts. FamilySearch must honor the agreements we have with our partners, record owners, and internal policies."
I wonder why this is happening and I would like to further help regarding this issue as soon as possible.
The Microfilm numbers for the records I edited and would like if you could check them are listed below :
7855209
7855208
7855207

Sounds like you talking about records that have been indexed. Try posting in Search.

Your questions will be best addressed by a FamilySearch Representative.
As a Community member - I receive the following restricted access message for 7855209, 7855208 and 7855207. Indeed the catalog shows they are restricted: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/80144?availability=Family%20History%20Library
To view these images do one of the following:
Access the site at a FamilySearch center.
Access the site at a FamilySearch affiliate library.
However 7855208 and 7855207 show that their indexes are searchable. Browsing the index - at home - I do not see the Edit feature available - so I suspect you must have edited the records while at FamilySearch center/Affiliate library? If so, this would not be an Indexing Project issue but a published record collection - edit feature (yes edit of the index) issue - which is properly placed in the Search category (I believe).
I do not know whether editing a record changes the address - but such could be the case - meaning those URLs will no longer work because they either 1. no longer exist (having been edited or changed) 2. the change does not point correctly from the old address to the new? I would need to have more information from FamilySearch (just like you) as to what happens to the old index once there has been an edit - but I suspect this occurrence is not normal/expected behavior - because Editing the index in other collections has not caused the problem in the past.
Since you say searching the index no longer returns the results for these persons - we know 1. the record has been removed/'placed' somewhere else - again we in Community who are not FamilySearch representatives - would need to know more information about the internal working of the FamilySearch index to be of help.
By coincidence or design similar problems are occurring in other collections (1950 US Census) - and there has been Community notice that engineers are aware/working on the issue (I do not recall having seen notice that the issue is fixed). Perhaps the issue is spreading amongst more collections now. It almost seems as if there is some third-party involvement in these occurrences - meaning not necessarily an isolated result of FamilySearch's systems/platform but interference from some other source. I hope not malicious hackers and that these issues can be resolved soon (there is so much of this going on these days that without a public notice one may never know the cause). I suppose if it were malicious there will be a public announcement - perhaps 6 months down the road...?

I just checked a record that I recently edited while at my local Affiliate. The URL has not changed.

Sure, I have edited most of those records inside a Family History Center, although Film 7855209 appeared to be open, maybe there was a glitch in the system? I hope my editing does not delete those record entries or change the address , I dont know if the change does not point correctly from the old address to the new, because that would be a question we should ask to the Engineers and see if they can help solving this issue.

I'm wondering if perhaps FamilySearch is migrating some collections to the new Catalog in the background or something. I don't really know what would make records disappear or the URL no longer work. I would doubt that your edits had anything to do with it. If you want to get the attention of a FamilySearch representative/Support you can use the Flag icon on your post and write a Report.

I'm not a member of the LDS Church. Working from home, all 3 of the OP's links give me the no access message (below). And searching by DGS number returns a no such number message.
