redundant church records
someone is going to a lot of effort creating redundant church records that are labelled for multiple States that have nothing to do with the actual State of the record. this a nuisance for people who extra work to check each record to verify its relevance and add a link. it causes confusion because of the label for an irrelevant State. it's waste of FamilySearch resources.
maybe there should be a way to tag things as redundant and have them shifted to a separate file, but give users the option to have that file accessible on request, e.g., "click here to display records labelled as redundant". that approach would work for redundant military records also.
for a recent example, see John Graves GMR6-SM1. there are 5 record hints showing a single record for the birth of his daughter - from 5 different States.

I must say this is really weird. Of the five record hints, four of them have an image in the source and all four images are exactly the same. They are all record 268 on film 007896982.
Looking at that film, it has fifteen different items in it from eight different states. Apparently all the records on the film were assigned to all eight states in whatever automatic routine created the citations then the hints.
This type of confusion is typical when an automatic routine used to save FamilySearch resources, since they dramatically reduce the huge number of manpower hours needed to just a couple of hours of computer runtime, just does not work for a certain percentage of the record sets.
Since you posted this in Suggest An Idea rather than under Search where these problems usually are discussed, I'll tag @N Tychonievich, one of the moderators there who can pass things on to the right engineering team.
