Reduce Reservation Times / Quantity
Often times I see reservations for years and the work still isn't done. The reservations should be limited based on the proximity to a temple or a specific length of time, say 4-6 weeks. I know it's convenient for me to get to the temple which is only a mile from my house. But I also understand some individuals it takes more time because they live farther away from a temple. But when someone has something reserved from 2-3 years, it makes it nearly impossible to perform direct line ordinances. If they have that many to do, maybe it's better to share than to keep a stock pile.

When reservation expiration dates become effective again, they will expire after two years.
If you see close relatives whose ordinances you would like to complete, you should message the person who has reserved those ordinances and ask them to share them with you. Or you could ask them about setting up a Family Group so that whichever one of you has the chance to complete them first could do so.
One fairly recent update to the temple reservation system is that people can only hold 300 reservations on their personal lists and all other reservations they have made have to be shared with the temple where they are available for anyone to complete.
