Hi Welcome to Family Search Community and posting your question about adding a membership number. Here are some updated instructions. You can also click on the circle with the question mark at the upper right of most family search pages and then select the help center at the lower left. This allows you to search for answers to your questions.

Google Translate - Japanese to English:
A sister had entered her family tree on her church account, but was unable to do so. How can I create a Family Tree account without losing the contents of the Family Tree created with my church account? Thank you very much.

Thank you, Wayland K Adams! What a quick response!
I found newer instructions here. (I also pasted them below.)
Steps (FamilySearch.org website)
- Sign in to https://familysearch.org/.
- In the upper right portion of the screen, click your name.
- Click Settings.
- Click the Account tab.
- Add your Church record number to your account:
- Near the bottom of the screen, click Add Church Record Number.
- Enter information:
- First and last name
- Birth date
- Any leading zeros as part of the 11 digit Church record number. The dashes are not required.
- Sign out, and sign back in.
- Click Save.
If you receive an error message indicating the number or your birth date is incorrect, it is likely that you entered either or both incorrectly. Please double-check your entries and try again.
