You can also click on the circle with the question mark at the upper right of most family search pages and then select the help center at the lower left. Steps (FamilySearch.org website)

1. Sign in to https://familysearch.org/.
2. In the upper right portion of the screen, click your name.
3. Click Settings.
4. Click the Account tab.
5. Add your Church record number to your account:
   1. Near the bottom of the screen, click Add Church Record Number.
   2. Enter information:
      1. First and last name
      2. Birth date
      3. Any leading zeros as part of the 11 digit Church record number. The dashes are not required.
6. Sign out, and sign back in. 
7. Click Save.

If you receive an error message indicating the number or your birth date is incorrect, it is likely that you entered either or both incorrectly. Please double-check your entries and try again.
