Should I change place to just 'Brunswick?'
1715–1901 [Part B][M3TV-KKR] I don't know why I am second guessing myself. But my understanding is only what is written on the document without using the word 'county' as part of the indexing.
I've been doing this for over 10 years. Should I take a break from index reviewing?

You are correct.
From the General Indexing Guideline:
• Do not include identifying descriptions or terms, such as “near,” “about,” “around,” “twp,” “township,” “city,” “county,” or “state,” with the place-name unless the term is normally used as part of the name (for example, Mexico City, Salt Lake City, or New York City).
and only what is written on the document.

"Brunswick" is the only thing you would enter there since that's the only level of location given. No way should you take a break! What you were thinking was correct. I think we all at sometime second guess ourselves when we see so many indexers making the same errors.

Brunswick, Virginia Or , Brunswick, Virginia, United States of America would be my vote (since the instructions are kinda vague about how many levels to include). But yes, I'd drop County.
