Don't turn off the old person profile page
I've given the new person profile page a fair go. It looks more modern, but the old one is easier and quicker to use. The new page is too busy. I'd urge you not to discard the old version just because you want to freshen up the look. Please leave both available. ๐

There is a group in the community specifically for the new Person Page Feedback. https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/316-new-person-page

Also, to help the engineers really narrow their focus, when you say "quicker and easier to use" can you elaborate on which tasks specifically are you are trying to accomplish that are slower or harder? It is quicker and easier to use... (when, how, to do what)? The extra context really helps.

I suspect you're right and didn't really expect it would change anything by posting. I used to get attached to my great ideas in my younger days too I remember, and I probably didn't think things through as well as I could have on a lot of occasions. Oh well, maybe if one of them reads this they might reflect a bit better than what I used to do and try to focus on the user rather than the idea that's currently in their headlights. Thanks Liz for your message.

Thank you for soliciting comments. Although I eventually adapt to whatever changes are made, I do prefer the older version because the lines separating family members and their data present a clearer, cleaner appearance. The newer version doesn't have as many lines/boxes, so the information, not as clearly delineated, appears to "bleed together." I also prefer not to have such a large splash of color; just the blue and pink silhouettes indicating gender are sufficient for me.

I prefer the older version as well. It man not look as fresh, but it is easier to navigate.

I agree the old version is much easier to navigate

You expressed how I am reacting to the new layout succinctly and accurately, thanks Theresa. I think this may be a case which shows up the differences between the generations in how each processes data in different ways. Reflecting now on how my 22 year old daughter navigates the digital landscape, I'm guessing that younger eyes find it easier to navigate through all that information in the new style, whereas older eyes see just an incoherent mish mash of colours, shapes , lines which do indeed seem to "bleed together". Even though I know where everything is on the page I just seem to sit there and look at it and it takes me twice as long to get anything done. Visual overload. Not enough white space to allow me to move to the info I need. I feel as if I have to battle my way through to get to where I want and what I want to do. Interesting, I hadn't thought it through until just now. Ryan and Karen's comments are on point regarding this. If a young web designer reads this they will likely have a conceptual understanding about what I just expressed but quite likely not the will to act to make the changes to their new web creation that many users of the would actually appreciate because it's not their experience.

I would encourage everyone here to join the New Person Page group and post specific, detailed, clear, preferably with annotated, illustrated examples of your concerns with the new page. Unfortunately most of the comments about the new pages I read throughout these boards are too vague to be helpful. The engineers need to know specifically what you are having trouble with and why. This is particularly important because I am reading two main complaints about the new pages:
1) Too cluttered, too much color, too little white space, harder to read.
2) Too spread out, too little contrast, too much white space, font too large.
I'm having trouble figuring out what people are seeing. It's like they are on completely different websites.
So, please, take some screen shots, go to the group and post them, explain in detail: this spot right here in this image has this problem and I would rather see this...

Thanks Gordon. I'll do as you suggested a bit later today.
