Virginia Vital Records, 1715–1901
When indexing Vital Records for Virginia, when the abbreviation Do is listed for name of child or name of Father or owner, what does that mean?
Here is the record number M3TV-KHS
Is appears on the second entry for the name of owner and for the name of the child on the sixth entry.
thanks
Rebecca

Ditto
From Project Instructions/General Indexing Guidelines/Ditto Marks
- If a record has a ditto mark or other sign of repetition, type the corresponding information from the previous record or field.
- Do not index the word "ditto" or the ditto mark itself. Other signs of repetition may include the abbreviation "Do" or a vertical or horizontal line.
So for lines 2 and 3 you would enter the same as line 1: Edwin B Jones
