"Find a FamilySearch Center" map
In trying the "Find a FamilySearch Center" map page I feel it could be clearer. I know where the one closest to me is, and although it did appear on the map I found it really hard to find. My home address had a nice bright red map pin, and the Family History center had a tiny FamilySearch logo inside a blue circle. With all the other icons on the map I did't see it for a good number of seconds. For someone who truly doesn't know, they would never see it.
Possibly link it to Googel maps and then the directions or at least a suggest route would appear. That at least would draw your eye to the location.
Another suggestion is to have a list with the centers with addresses appear as a result of the search, and when you click on a choice from the list, the icon on the map would become larger.1
I was helping a patron. I told them that there was probably another location closer to their home. We searched using her city and state. A map comes up that has parks and other facilities with very visible icons. However a green icon for familysearch on a map with a green background is pretty much impossible for this patron to find. The map is specifically for finding familysearch locations. Why are those icons not the most noticeable thing on the map? Make them bigger and use colors like red or bright blue or anything that is more obvious than green on green.0
Keep an eye on it. Some changes to the locator are in the works!0
