How to correct 1950 US Census index for family split across multiple images?
I am new to this forum community so apologies if there is already discussion around this issue in another thread!
I came across an instance of a family unit that spans two images in the 1950 US Census records. Only the individuals located at the bottom of page 1 are included in the index. The index for page 2 omits the remaining family members at the top of the page and begins with the next recorded family unit.
I am not seeing any sort of options to include the "skipped" family members via an edit...is there something I am missing or is that not a current feature within the 1950 US Census data set?

@Nathan Margrett There is not yet a way to fix the inaccurate family groupings in the 1950 US Census. That census on FamilySearch is still a work in progress. At some point, after a special team finishes some final reviewing, you will be able to fix errors in the index, including getting households properly grouped.

Has any progress been made since December 2022 to fix the inaccurate family groupings of 1950 census? This situation applies to myself as I am listed first name on page 10 while rest of my family is listed on bottom of page 9. Thank you.

You should be able to go under the person marked Head (usually the first person in the household), click on their name in the Computer Indexed Data column on the right.
- Look for the Relationships heading.
- Click on the Pencil edit symbol.
- Click + ADD OR REMOVE FIELDS.
- Choose one of the gray boxes that most closely matches the relationship (they are gender neutral).
- Click SAVE FIELDS.
- Enter the name of the person (this often brings up existing indexed names, note if the correct name has page 10 below it and select it from the list).
- Click SAVE CHANGES.
- Refresh page. Note: Usually refreshing will show the correction. However, sometimes if the server, is busy it may take a while for a correction to appear.
If you have any problems, feel free to post and mention me and post the url that page 9 appears on.
Good luck! 😊

Hello, sorry to bring this back up, but has the original problem been fixed yet? I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to fix a family group that crosses a page.
Example in 1950 Census: Head (father) and Wife are on page 19, and they are recorded as the entire record group. Then, on page 20, there are three more people who should be part of that same record group, but instead, are their own record group. Their relationships on that page are Daughter, Daughter and Mother-In-Law.
There is the "drag names" feature, to fix record groups on a single page, but I don't see any way to fix groups that are on a different page. Thank-you!
