Print more cards to a page
When you do work for those that are found on Temple lists, they are able to print them 5-6 to a page, but if I bring my own family names I have to print them 3 to a page and cut along dotted lines. Can I please just print more to a page and then not have to cut them?

Your suggestion has been passed along to the correct department.

This is a good suggestion. However, some members would like the 4 cards on a page and others would like more names on a page for ordinances like sealings baptism, confirmation, and maybe initiatory. It could save a lot of paper and ink. Why not offer both ways and let the patron choose when they print family names.

You could give us the option to print a card the size of the ones that are given out at the Temple when we come without a name from our own family tree. That would allow us to print more than 3 cards on one piece of paper. We could probably get 12 to 20 or so on one page that way. The fact that we have to keep printing these cards out every time we want to do another ordinance make for a lot of paper we are going through.

How about putting 10 cards on one 8 1/2 x 11 page instead of only three. It seems like such a waste of paper the way it is and I don't think the temple will mind. Not a deal breaker, but worth mentioning. You don't need to get back with me.

Just for you interest, I'll mention that this request has been posted in various forms fairly frequently on these boards. The last time there was an official answer from someone at FamilySearch, we were told that FamilySearch has no control over the size of the cards. The temple department tells them what size the cards need to be.

In the temple, when they print family name cards, they print them 4 per page, instead of 3 per page with the instructions that we can print at home. Please give us the option, maybe in a setting, to print 4 per page also. It would make it easier and save paper (we really don't need the instructions every time).

If you remove the right page margin when printing the temple ordinance cards, we would save an extra cut. We would only have three cuts rather than 4.
If you rotated the cards 90 degrees, you can get 4 ordinance cards to a page instead of 3.
If you get rid of the top margin and the right margin on a print, you would only have to make 2 cuts instead of 4.

Not all printers can print next to the edge or top of the page. Print feed and alignment inconsistencies between all the printer types also need consideration. You'd be surprised how many issues there are with shrink-to-fit and full-page printer options that make this a hard problem.
Printing more on one page or even a format that doesn't require cutting for ordinances you do in batches would be nice.

Wouldn't it be great if you could print 6 cards to a page (landscape), and it was easy to select which ordinances you wanted to print. Ideally you could choose ordinances and their combinations, and they would all print out together.
