Addition to Indexing Project Instructions
This is just a general suggestion. I am new to indexing, and was trying to submit a batch of about seven names but there was room for 200 names, and it wouldn’t let me submit it because the rest of the entries were blank. I had to do some searching to figure out how to submit the batch. It would’ve been helpful and saved me lots of time to have this instruction in the project instructions.
Thanks for your consideration!

Hi, a reference to this is normally included in the project instructions. This is from one project, you might have skipped over it if you were not sure what it meant:
What to Remember about This Project▲
- The default number of entries per image for this project is 100. You may need to add or delete entries in the data entry area to index all of the records on an image or remove any unused entries.
Instructions for each project are different so it is possible that it was not included with your project.

I agree. This has been a problem with the instructions since the beginning of web-indexing. The instruction needs one more line.
Unused entries MUST be deleted to successfully submit a batch. Use the trash can icon to perform this task.
"You may need" simply isn't clear enough.
This is apparent since the question "why can't I submit my batch" has been asked thousands of times.
@Lisa B Lindsay-Sanders you should also copy and paste your suggestion to the Suggest an Idea page (see link above). "They" seem to look at that page.

I totally agree with Melissa S Himes

Please note @Sam Sulser Thanks.
I agree - please, FS, modify and expand the instructions regarding the most asked about issue in indexing.
But I also suggest that @Melissa S Himes writes her enhanced version of those instructions as a separate generic (batch-independent) post and that the Community Manager or one of the Moderators pins and substitutes it for FAQ #4 (I think that’s the relevant one). While the CM or Moderator is in the neighborhood, why not clean up those pinned posts to be CURRENTLY relevant?
Better still, have a proper Indexing-specific FAQ section with this and other FAQs. I have suggested this several times.
