Group Memories that are different versions of the same item

Sometimes there might be multiple memories that come from the same underlying source attached to a person. For example:

  • An original black-and-white photograph and a colorized/enhanced version of the same photograph
  • The same photograph scanned at different times; or separate copies, that have had different color damage
  • A recent color scan of a document, and a PDF of a scan of an old Xerox copy of the same document
  • A scanned copy of a funeral program with written annotations, and a PDF generated from the original Word or LaTeX source of the same program

I'd like to be able to link two or more such items and set one as the "preferred" form. When looking in the gallery, I dhould see the thumbnail of the "preferred" form, but be able to open any of the versions.

Great idea - it would be a nice feature - used once in a while. Currently I think the only way to group items with different versions would be to create a specific Album containing all versions. Unfortunately I am unsure whether different versions submitted by different users would be able to be grouped this way currently - or as you suggest - to be tagged/grouped as duplicate but possibly different version/format.
