Issue with portrait being rotated sideways

Also happening on L13S-9J6
Another thing I have noticed is, I often have to rotate the image after uploading it. On my computer the photo is right side up. After uploading it to FS, I have to rotate it 90 degrees. After creating the portrait, it appears the FS is re-rotating the photo to make it sideways.

Actually, this sounds like your electronic device's fault. When you take a digital picture with a modern camera or smart phone, or tablet, it saves a marker that says 'this side up'. So often your computer program or phone shows you those images in the upright position, even thought they aren't saved in that orientation. You can see this if you take a picture in landscape mode on your phone and then look at it when you hold your phone upright. It shows your photograph upright and very small because it trying to fit it across the width of the screen. If you then turn your phone sideways, the picture rotates and fills the screen much larger because the width of the screen is greater. SO, when you upload these pictures to FamilySearch, it doesn't read this automatic up marker and shows it however the picture was saved. Here are several articles that talk about this problem and give suggestions on how to fix it.
Why do my images appear sideways or upside down?

Why does FS provide an image rotating tool, if it's just going to rotate the image back when creating the portrait?
I did not create the photos. I was hoping this could be resolved with FS provided tools.
