Which column do we use for Event Day, Month, and Year?
I am reviewing South Africa Dutch Reformed Church Registers - Part C, Batch #M36M-D4K.
Under "What to Index" in the Project Instructions, it shows an example of how to index a Church Membership image. That is what I am reviewing, a Church Membership record. For the Event Day, Month, and Year the example shows that the information to be used is taken from the section "Aangeneem - Wanneer" which means in Afrikaans "Adopted - When". That makes sense because when you become a member of something it is like being "adopted" into some organization. But, in this batch the indexer has used the dates from the column "Aangekom - Wanneer" which means literally "Arrived - When". I am sure they are using the data from this column because there is no data from the correct column. I am starting to get indexed batches where the information used for the event day, month and year is being taken from the "When arrived" column which I feel is incorrect. What should I do? Thanks for your help.

The instruction example clearly shows to use the “arrived” column and states if there is no date to enter blank. I have been following this visual example from the batch directions for a couple of months as well as the instruction to document what you see on the batch. In the future, when the instructions change please change the directions on examples to go with the changes. I am sorry someone will have to redo all of the ones I have done right but wrong now. I have been reviewing too so sadly all of those are wrong too. I am truly sorry for following the wrong choice of examples???

The instruction for church membership with highlighted instructions of dates shows to use the AANGEKOM WANNER Date, not the AAGENEEMEN WANNEER date and to mark it blank when there is no date. Another post said to use the Voogesterol. Perhaps there are more than one example document for church membership with the other titles. I see this is beyond my ability and will be finding something else to do. Love indexing but want to do it right.
