1950 Census - Hawaii Records
Although 48 states of the 1950 Census have been completed, when will Hawaii, Alaska and other territories be available for volunteers to review and what will that process be? I would definitely like to help, but the website states they "will be published separately". When and how will that occur? Even a clearer vague answer would be helpful so we know where and when to look for those projects.
Thanks.

@JerilynKS Announcements are made when projects become available so all you can do is continue to check back.

The big 1950 U.S. Census community project was completed in September. Many states were not completely indexed at that time and were probably outsourced to finish. Since they were never available to work on during the community project, I would guess that the review process for the noncontinental US states and territories would be outsourced as well.
If you check the Available to Search Page, below the map of the continental United States are the Territories and other enumerated populations outlines. They are all still white, which is meant to indicate they have not been reviewed (Virginia is also white?).
Also, since the 1950 U.S. Census project involved a different software program than the indexing projects do, any additional projects will probably also be limited to groups only or outsourced, and will not show up on the indexing page. The group project I will be involved with later this month was announced shortly before the Census project ended. There was no mention of it involving the noncontinental U.S. review.
