I see the 1950 census is quite a recent addition and may be a work in progress, but I wonder why on these pages only a few people have been indexed.

In Ancestry the page seems to be indexed correctly. I don't know if this is relevant.

Yes, another thread has Community Manager @Mark McLemore looking into the issue.

I have previously hazarded a guess ... FamilySearch crowdsourced indexers were used to train Ancestry AI index process. I suspect maybe the message is correct - 'honor agreements made with partners ' - seems to imply that perhaps the only portions available at FamilySearch were completed by their indexers - and the other AI portion belongs to Ancestry - and whatever 'agreement' was made does not allow access to the other? Basically it sounds like FamilySearch crowdsourced indexing was put in a role with Ancestry AI - Ancestry got what they needed from that and then AI indexed the rest/majority - thus the index ownership/sharing 'according to agreement' has resulted in this situation? That there has been no official announcement/response on this issue - that I have seen to date - just leads me to continue this speculation. In the meantime I think the 1950 Census is searchable (note the message "151 million people will be searchable on FamilySearch." - maybe a 1950 Census expert can comment):

I just wish all these 1950 Census threads were together ... But I guess FamilySearch prefers to have them be separate reports - in which case I don't understand why moderators are not separating them all out...

It will be interesting to end the speculation and threads - and see what final state of sharing the collection is arrived at - from the 'agreement'... sometime soon.

Another page with invalid index: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QHJ-5QHW-N9TW-L

A search to that page works fine but record details cannot be opened.

Here's another one...not indexed after the Wimmer family in family search, but it is in Ancestry.
