Affiliate Library - local library in process for years
Hi!
I've been asking my local library to become a FamilySearch Affiliate Library for a couple years. In response to my Sept. 2020 query the local library said the request was in process. In Feb. 2021 they said all the paper work was complete and the ball was in FamilySearch's court. In May 2022 I was told the local library has been trying to set it up for years without success. How can I help resolve whatever issues the local library in encountering? There are dozens of Affiliate Libraries in my State (but none close to me), so whatever issues the library feels it's running up against have to be resolvable, and I'd like to help with that.
Thank you!
Mary

This Blog page explains to libraries how they can become an Affiliate Library: https://www.familysearch.org/en/blog/familysearch-affiliate-library-how-to
You will see that there are some technical/IT requirements the library has to meet. These requirements should not be difficult, but perhaps if the library has very old IT systems it will not be possible to satisfy them.

Further to the above post, I understand that the requirement to have a static IP address for the library may be difficult to satisfy for some, depending on the internet service the library has.
If the library still wants to proceed there is now a specific email address (given in the above link)
affiliatelibraries@familysearch.org and put "Affiliate Libraries" as the subject.

My apologies for the delayed reply! Thank you for your input. I recently learned that the library was successful in becoming an affiliate. Yay!
