Trying to unmerge two persons

Hi. I am pretty familiar with merge and unmerge and have done it several times before if I found new information that contradicts what I had and I have discovered was true. But, in trying to unmerge two William Andrews that were previously merged, I discovered that the change page doesn't show the option anymore. That can't be the case, because how can you correct and update people unless you can be sure they are with the right families? Someone please help here.

Specifically, William Andrews of the U.K. #MR4Y-WV1 and #MSS5-YMV

There have been edits since the merge, so "unmerge" is unavailable: the system doesn't know where to put the changes to the combined profile.

What you can do instead is to go to the "merge-deleted" profile (https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/MSS5-YMV) and click "Restore Person". This will leave MR4Y-WV1 unchanged from its current state, but will restore MSS5-YMV to its pre-merge state. You'll still have work to do, removing the one man's sources, wives, and so on from the other, but you can use the restored profile to see which ones belong where.
