and another slightly different search:
Are you looking to find him in the Family Tree or are you looking to see if there is some history about Irish immigrants to Canada in 19th century?
Here is a search in FamilySearch Books for Irish immigrant Canada :

In my opinion, Canadian resources are extremely limited, especially for the earliest years. And then if your ancestors were French Canadian, you have the additional pleasure of trying to search in French. However, 112 sources are listed under search collections for Canada. I'd start with the family search wiki for Canada and also search collections https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/ You might also ask for a free research consultation under Family Search Help, or join Wikitree and seek help there. Someone recently posted birth and marriage information in Family Search for my Irish Canadian ancestors who happened, it turns out, to have been born and married in Quebec. I would not have considered looking there, especially since family genealogies had some of them born in New York, but it was extremely helpful because now I have my g-g-g-g-grandmother's actual maiden name instead of the fictional one handed down to me. So seek help and keep looking. Good luck.
