How do I find out if my Adopted family has relatives that could be my biological relatives?

I am adopted and have been working on my biological family. I have found someone who may be on my adopted family line also.

My adopted sister says they have a certain line of family with the same last name that is also my biological family last name. She says that they are all from the same location as mine. She gave me names of hers and wants me to somehow see if we connect in some way. I said, would that be the coolest thing if we were really related? she said yes.

Help, so confusing, I do not know where to start. M H🤨

@Mara Hanson, I would start with a simple DNA test, like Ancestry or such. Keep working your paper trail and developing that on Family Tree. Once your test results come back you may discover you have DNA matches or not with the adopted line.
