Adding Memories under the new Memories layout

When one adds a file memory under the new layout there is not an option to say whether it is a photo or a document unless after you download it you can go into the actions tab and change it there. (That option is not available when you add a PDF file.) Would it be possible that when you select the option of File to download that another dropdown menu would appear to select photo or document.

Thanks

@DonWest I like your suggestion. I also like the idea that the memories would thereby be filed as a document or as a photo instead of having documents and photos intermixed in one hodge-podge folder.

I just went to the new Memories and played with it. It allows you to filter by photos, stories, documents, and audio. However, once you select an item (photo, for example) and you pull it up individually, there is no way to get directly back to the filtered collection of photos; you are taken back to the complete group of memories and have to perform the filtering process once again. Not a convenient way to review material. Engineers need to enable going back to the filtered photos, documents, stories, etc without having to complete the filtering once again.

another example of software capability regression ... putting all the memories in one basket may be easier for the programmers, but not for users. Putting photos with documents and stories doesn't make sense to me.

Sorry, but hope the engineers will make some adjustments prior to full implementation.

I thought I would put my two cents worth regarding the beta for new memories. I agree that putting all memories in one basket is not easy. It makes the feel of memories feel too clunky. I prefer separate areas for photos, documents, audio, stories, etc. It feels cleaner that way.
