What do the letters "ht ac" or "ht c" mean in a name?

I am indexing "South Africa, Johannesburg—Cemetery Records, 1840–2019[M3LN-5H5]" I do not know what these letters "ht ac" or "ht c" stand for nor how to index them. Maybe that is not even the correct letters? One is written prior to a name and the other is written between two names. Could someone please assist?

I believe what you read as "ht" is an "M".

Grave No. 11948 : Uren Jessie McIsaac

    Grave No. 11952: MacLean Margaret

Hello @Jmphelps, thank you for your efforts to be accurate!

If you are referring to the to graves referred to by @MinnWisRoots, I agree it's Mc and Mac. If you look at grave 11954, the way this person made H is different from the ones you are referring to, with a clear loop in the middle. Then, graves11896 and 11897 have "Maxson" as the surname and the M looks very much like the records you are questioning. It does look as though there is more than one author here but I think these examples are written by the same person.

Tough handwriting can sometimes be clearer by looking at the rest of the document. Hope that helps!
