    The most similar letter to that first one is actually the H in Hugh in the line above, and I think I agree with the indexer that it probably ends in -ench, but I think I'd want to search through other pages written in the same hand looking for a Thomas or Theresa, and/or a Frank or Francis/Frances. Or at least scroll down one line to see how the F in February is written.
