Where are the beginning batches for new indexers

As much of a comment as a question: I am really disappointed and frustrated to see that we no longer have batches for beginners. I will be teaching a beginner next week, and in my search for a batch that would be a good place to start, i am finding nothing that is suitable. We have a couple of mortgagee/mortgagor batches, but that is all. And, these are also really difficult for a beginner.

The census was a wonderful place to start indexing. We learned about families, the number of people in the family, the head of household, where they came from and where they were going. etc. It was like a storybook unfolding before our eyes, and then we were hooked on genealogy and indexing. Not so much anymore. I actually am reluctant to recommend indexing to anyone now. I am an advanced indexer, but I would not be if I had to start where we are today. I'm sad about this.
