What happened to my internal message's Subject?
I wrote a message to another contributor. I edited the About line to just the name and dates and URL, and wrote the beginning of my message as the Subject, then continued in the Message box for the rest of it.
When the recipient replied, I went to my messages, and saw that the "about" field has reverted to the full breadcrumb trail, and there is no sign anywhere of my Subject line. The message is kind of nonsensical without it.
Why did my edits to the About field get discarded, and where is the Subject line?

I looked back at all my messages over the last several months, and none have the title I created.

The subject lines I create are retained in the Messages list on the web interface and in the mobile app. I see them there now. They do not appear in the message headers.
I have learned to mention the relevant PIDs in the body of the message.

@dontiknowyou, what Messages list, where?
(I just noticed: why on Earth do I have a temple icon/button? What the ::ehem:: am I supposed to do with it?)

I've also wondered about the Temple button since I am not a church member.

@Julia Szent-Györgyi by temple icon, do you mean the Share Reservation button below your message text entry box? As far as I know, there is nothing you or I can use it for.
By Messages list, I mean the list displayed in your screenshot on the left.
When I start a conversation I always provide a Subject and as long as the other contributor does not respond the Subject continues to appears in the list. It does not appear in the message panel. Here is an example where my Subject was "Conflation":

Just checked on my tablet, on the App, and the captions/titles show in the message list. The view/display is different in the App from on the browser view.
