    @Harmon, James Bartlett,

    The Project Instructions state:

    • "Indexes are images with only a name and reference information, such as page or volume number, with no other information, such as dates, available. Indexes should be marked as No, No Extractable Data.

    Yes, these have the year as a date.

    However, these records first need to be identified as one of the options from the Entry Type menu:

    Baptism/Birth/Christening,

    Marriage

    Burial/Death

    Has anyone else worked on this project, who might know which type of records these are? I would guess marriage, but I've only worked in South African Vital Records and not Parish Records.

    I would suggest holding off on working on pages like this until it is confirmed that this type of Index should be indexed.

    @annewandering, @Melissa S Himes, do either of you know if just the year would qualify this for indexing?

    Another Batch I saved - Someone indexed them as Burial/Death. This will be a guess. I hate to do that. I need more info before I return the 3 batches I have saved.

    I went through all of the Reference Images. I saw only one clue. One name has { adopted by ... } next to it.

    Adopted by is usually added to a birth record.

    Unfortunately some of the South African records do not indicate what they are for or where they were recorded (i.e., no town/district/province/country to indicate place of birth on birth registers).

    Definately need word from FamilySearch on this one. Wish I knew who the Indexing moderator(s) were now. If no one can clarify this, the records could be any one of the three possibilities which would make the year meaningless.

    These are baptisms and should be indexed as they have a date - see register title here https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GTWG-HLR?cc=1468076&cat=3518810 Your batch M35C-1FW is image 11 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9TWG-CCQ?i=10&cc=1468076&cat=3518810 Batch M35C-1FY is image 31 of the same film https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GTWG-HF8?i=30&cc=1468076&cat=3518810

    On it. While waiting, I Indexed some of the Advanced Parish records. Finished Indexing 80 Marriage entries last evening. Their examples showed me it was a Marriage Register.
