Crossed Out Names - Explicit Instructions...

I'm indexing the MA Tax records, but I did not find any explicit instructions whether names that are crossed out need to be indexed. I read through the Project Instructions and did not find any. I think it would have been beneficial to include instructions about crossed out names in the Project Instructions as well.

General rule if it was crossed out and replace use the replaced name, if it were just crossed out index it.

There used to be a General Indexing Guidelines document that applied when the project-specific instructions didn't say otherwise. All of the projects I've worked on quote those guidelines somewhere in some form, but I cannot find the whole thing in one place. Here's what they say about crossed out info:

Basically, if you can read the crossed-out names, then yes, you should index them.
