Image viewer URL does not return me to same image
Hi, minor issue here, but it'd be nice to fix the following issue with some image viewer URLs.
The following URL is for an image 811. Notice "imageIndex=810" in the URL. (It's normal to be off by 1 in the URL because URL numbering starts at zero. Also, I'm showing just the path, not the full URL, so the community software won't show a preview, but you can add "https://www.familysearch.org".)
/records/images/image-details?imageIndex=810&page=1&place=394984&rmsId=M995-QKT&singleView=true
However, loading the above page from scratch redirects to here:
/records/images/image-details?imageIndex=117&page=1&place=394984&rmsId=M995-QKT&singleView=true
The UI now shows I'm on page 117 of 117.
Off to the right there's a link to "Show all 928 images". If I click the link, I'm now on image 475 of 928 and the URL has changed to reflect it.
I can change the image to "811" to get back to the image I want and the URL changes again, and I'm finally back at the original URL.
It'd be great to fix this for purposes of using this URL in sources and logs and repeatably getting back to the correct image.
Thanks!

My suggestion is to not use Images. This is not the only thing it does wrong.
Instead, use the Catalog's image viewer. It has a user-parseable URL scheme for the thumbnail view, using the film number and the image number (off by one from what's shown, because of starting at zero, as you noted): https://www.familysearch.org/search/film/007644651?i=810
For films that are included in a waypointed collection, the Catalog's image viewer can be switched between the entire-film-based "address" and the waypointed-section-based one. For example, Film 4838221 image 608 of 903 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9P6R-PMB?i=607) is also Hungary Civil Registration - Nógrád - Balassa-Gyarmat - Deaths 1895-1898 - Image 1 of 292 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9P6R-PMB).
(And for the Community, the trick for giving links without previews is to either precede them with non-URL text, or to create the paragraph first and then paste in the link, so that you're not hitting "enter" at the end of a paragraph starting with "http".)

@Julia Szent-Györgyi Thank you for your recommendation about using the Catalog viewer instead, and thanks for showing my same image in the Catalog viewer for comparison. On the Image viewer, I can see the Image Group Number from this example (007644651) at the bottom right, and then, as you mentioned, it's easy to work with the Catalog viewer URLs for the thumbnail view.
(Thank you too for the recommendation on working with URLs in the Community.)
Best wishes,
Richard

This seems to be clear for the older waypointed-section-based images, but what about the newer colllections?
What is the new underlying structure which controlls the ConttrolViewer?
Thanks
