Alternative and not Alternate

Could FS please use the word alternative in the place for details of an individual instead of the word alternate. I mean where someone may have more than one name by which they were known or thought to have been known.

For most of the planet, the word alternative means, correctly, a substitute or other. Alternate means every other. Example: in a row of blue and red poles, alternate poles are painted red.

I know that in American English the word alternate is used both ways, and that can be confusing to those not in or from the USA, unless they know about this American version. Many people around the world are not able to use FS in their own language, so rely on English. Most of them would have learned standard English, not American English. For a global audience, not using American English would be preferable.
