FS mailing list reply options
I am registered to receive emails from Family Search but unfortunately replies are not monitored. Recently they sent me inaccurate information so I wish to contact them to establish the source. I have sent an email to "support@familysearch.org" but had no response. How do I contact the author(s) of the FS emails? Thank You.

@PhilipCaine Yes, those would computer generated and not setup to receive replies. But you can still contact us to let us know of an error. I'm not sure they still monitor the email, support@familysearch.org but they do monitor and answer from the email nasupport@familysearch.org. To know the best and most current ways to contact support go here to the contact us page. It is located in the question mark at the top under contact us and then you navigate to the area you are from and are looking for help.
Hope this helps!

Perhaps you could try the Library LookUp Service https://www.familysearch.org/en/family-history-library/record-lookup-service

Given that most of them are computer-generated based on what's in FS's various databases (such as indexed historical records and/or the communal family tree), those emails don't really have an "author", and there's really nobody to contact.
If or how a correction can be made depends heavily on the specifics. If the email was based on what's in the Family Tree, then you should be able to correct any errors by finding the relevant profile(s) and editing the inaccurate conclusions. If the email was based on indexed historical records, then you may or may not be able to make corrections, depending on whether or not the inaccuracy is in an editable field in an editable index. If it's not editable, then you just need to console yourself with the fact that the index is not the data. It is merely a finding aid for the data.

Many thanks for your reply and I am sure you are correct in that the emails are computer generated.
To my knowledge computers don't swap genders of husbands and wives they find in an index or register. At some stage between the index(register) and my inbox there was human error. As I am housebound and can't visit a FS centre I cannot access the relevant index or register. So end of the line I think,,,,,thanks again for your interest.

there is no "author"
It is a computer generated email -- potentially MILLIONS of such messages go out over time.
If you see inaccuracies in the Family Tree portion of FamilySearch - you can update the record yourself.
If the inaccuracy was simply in the email itself (but not really anything in the family tree) - just ignore it.

The email contained a link which took me to a description of an England, Yorkshire Parish register with a further link to an actual copy. Clicking on this further link informed me that it was only accessible through a FS Centre and as I am Housebound..................the end I guess.
