US, New York, Albany—Indexes to Mortgages, 1630–1975 [M35M-ST5]
In the above Batch the Mortgagor is a member of a committee. Do I index the name of the committee as well as the original mortgagor?
It’s just my opinion, but I don’t think “Committee has the usual meaning in this context. For example, in the following snip,
I think that J Eddy Fowler (the “CommittOR” in my opinion) has committed/ pledged something related to the transaction to J Henry Furman, making Furman the CommittEE. In any case, I would make entries for both names, with them as a Mortgator and Frank V Millard as the Mortgagee in each entry.0
